Finding Energy as a Busy Mom: Discipline, Bodybuilding & Small Habits with Chloe Parsons
I get asked one question more than almost any other: how do you find the energy to do it all?
So this week, I brought on someone who gets asked that even more than I do — my longtime friend Chloe Parsons. We met back in college, long before she became a mom of three, went through a divorce, rebuilt her entire sense of self, and eventually became a competitive bodybuilder while working full-time. I've watched her transformation up close over the last couple of years, and I wanted to sit down with her and actually unpack how she does it.
The Question I Kept Getting Asked
When I asked my followers what they'd want to know from a mom of three who competes in bodybuilding and works full-time, the same question came up over and over: how does she have the energy?
Chloe's answer surprised me a little. It wasn't about discipline she was born with or some secret morning routine. It was about how she used to approach fitness completely wrong — and what finally clicked for her instead.
Rebuilding Herself From the Ground Up
Before any of this started, Chloe was married young, raised three kids, and went through a divorce that left her asking a question a lot of us avoid: who am I outside of this role I've been playing?
That season of her life is where this whole journey really started — not in a gym.
Discipline Doesn't Mean Missing Out
One of my favorite parts of this conversation was hearing how Chloe handles the social side of prep — the birthday parties, the softball games, the moments where discipline could easily start to feel isolating. She's honest about the parts that are still hard, and honest about what actually makes it sustainable.
Start Small, Give Yourself Grace
If you've ever felt like getting healthy is one more thing you don't have the capacity for, this episode is for you. Chloe walks through exactly how she went from crying on her commute to becoming a five-thirty-a.m. person — and it did not happen the way you'd expect.
This episode is a reminder that discipline isn't about being perfect. It's about starting smaller than you think you need to.
